DECOUPLING AND WATERPROOFING OF TILED SURFACES
A decoupling membrane or mat is an effective way of achieving reliable results when fixing tiles or other hard flooring materials such as stone, slate and marble onto subfloors that are unstable in the horizontal plane.
Durabase™ CI++ and CI-H Matting performs as stress-alleviating intermediate layer keeping tiled surfaces permanently free of cracks by absorbing shear stresses. Ideal for freshly laid mineral subfloors, system floors, outdoor flooring, large-format tiles and problematic subfloors
THE BENEFITS FOR ARCHITECTS, SPECIFIERS, ENGINEERS AND FITTERS
Bridges cracks and alleviates stress across all substrates.
Durabase™ CI++ and CI-H are waterproof and can both be used as part of an indoor tanking system.
Highly resistant to mechanical loading.
Simple and quick to install with very little maintenance required.
Easy to handle and unroll, CI++ rolls out flat.
Improved transfer of loads, in line with DIN 1055-3.
Improves footfall sound insulation.
New screed normally need 28 days to dry before tiling. Durabase™ can be fixed to new screed once solid to walk on and tiling can commence straight away. A time saving of 3 - 4 weeks for cement screeds and calcium sulphate screeds – tiles can be laid after just 3 - 4 days. Tiling should not commence directly onto a liquid cement or calcium sulphate screed until the RM is 0.5%. Durabase™ can be laid on this screed when the RM is 2.0% and tiling can commence straight away.
